We've worked with many kinds of nonprofits —as
employees, volunteers, and consultants. But you get more than deep
knowledge and wide experience when you choose us to tell your stories.
You'll also gain quick access to answers and
results. Instead of wading through layers of staff to discuss your
project, you'll always receive personal attention from our leadership
team—Joan Huyser-Honig and
Steve Huyser-Honig.
§
Looking back, Joan Huyser-Honig sees she was
born
to persuade people to support nonprofits. She tried to type before she
tried to walk. At age three, she horrified her mom by correcting an
adult's grammar.
Joan's second-grade classmates earned contest
points by reading her first book, about the Pilgrims. She began writing
for magazines and nonprofits during college. Congressional Quarterly
covered the alternative meal program she created to help college students
learn about world hunger.
Joan kept writing while working in college
administration, and, after her first child was born, became her own CEO.
She and Steve wrote best-selling church school manuals that challenged
young people to serve others.
Though she has enjoyed amassing hundreds of
magazine, newspaper, and online credits, Joan finds her deepest
satisfaction in persuading people to support organizations that
effectively inspire, educate, heal, enrich, advocate, or serve.
§
For Steve Huyser-Honig art, science,
theology, and education provided a perfect springboard for his passion:
using photography to help nonprofits tell their stories.
His commitment to blending art and science began
in college, where he took as many classes in art and philosophy as he did
in his major—chemistry. Pursuing an advanced degree in theology bolstered
his Renaissance man rep.
During twelve years as a middle school science and
math teacher, Steve learned to boil a message down to its essence, capture
the attention of even the most distracted student, and get along with just
about anyone.
Steve
discovered a love of photography when he and Joan began collaborating as
travel journalists. Their decades of experience in journalism and serving
nonprofits have uniquely prepared them to tell your stories and advance
your cause. |
